Sunflower Mission is a 501(c)3 organization committed to improve the lives of the people in Vietnam, mainly through educational assistance programs.


Our first event (thus our premier) to the public will occur, jointly with a concert in partnership with YMCA International Services, on January 17, 2003. Please help us by doing any of the following:

The sunflower-resilient, bright?it grows toward the sun. Like a child reaching for the future, it is our hope. Hope and future for Vietnam are the purposes of Sunflower Mission.

Concert details:
When: Friday, January 17 from 7:00pm to 9:30pm
There will be a reception to follow the performance for all guests
Where: Houston Baptist University.
Performers: Family of Pham Duc Thanh from Canada, performing Vietnamese
traditional music(ly ngua o, ...). Mr. Thanh is the internationally
acclaimed Dan Bau player and is recognized as one of the leading exponents
of traditional Vietnamese music.
Tenor Le Hong Quang from California; Le Hong Quang will perform pieces of
music by Pham Duy, Trinh Cong Son, Van Cao, Phu Quang, and others
A trio from the Houston Symphony Orchestra Symphony; this trio has
performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City.


All the major costs of the program have been donated by the performers and other parties involved, so the total proceeds will go to the Vietnam School Project itself.
